Der Politgrafiker Klaus Staeck – Präsident der Deutschen Akademie der Künste Berlin - ist einer der Künstler, deren Entwürfe für die nächste Serie der Trucks MOVE FOR LIFE bestimmt sind. Wer ist Klaus Staeck?
1971 feierte Nürnberg Albrecht Dürers 500. Geburtstag. Klaus Staeck feierte mit. An dreihundert Plakatsäulen klebte Dürers Bildnis seiner Mutter. Darunter stand Staecks Frage: „Würden Sie dieser Frau ein Zimmer vermieten?“
Der Urheber dieses Anschlags (im doppelten Sinne des Wortes), der promovierte Jurist und amtierende Anwalt, der Galerist, Verleger, Herausgeber und Schriftsteller Klaus Staeck, war 33 Jahre alt.
Inzwischen ist er 69, war dreimal zur Kasseler documenta geladen, hatte über fünfzig Einzelausstellungen, ist seit April 2006 Präsident der Deutschen Akademie der Künste in Berlin.
Und bis auf den Tag ist Staecks ironische Inzenierung greifbarster Wirklichkeit in Postkarten, auf Plakaten unerreicht geblieben.
Sein Entwurf für einen Truck der nächsten Serie von MOVE FOR LIFE ist bissig, scharfsinnig und komisch, ein Staeck wie eh und je, reine Agitation. Warum spielt er da mit? Was bringt Agitation?

Wenn Green Peace oder Umweltgruppen oder Amnesty International meine Plakate bei ihren Strassenaktionen einsetzen, wo sie ja Aufmerksamkeit erregen wollen und müssen, erzielen sie nach meinem Verständnis doch eine Wirkung, die sich abschätzen lässt! Wenn Aufmerksamkeit das erwünschte Resultat ist, kann man schon von erkennbarer Wirkung sprechen. Aufmerksamkeit ist ja ein hoher Wert für sehr viele Menschen! Die Frage ist einfach: wie spricht man Menschen an, um sie auf ein schwieriges und womöglich ungeliebtes Thema aufmerksam zu machen? Die Antwort auch: man braucht Bilder. Und am allerbesten braucht man satirische Bilder...

Klaus Staeck, political designer, President of the German Academy of Art Berlin, is one of the artists who designed for the next series of trucks MOVE FOR LIFE. Who is Klaus Staeck?
In 1971, Nuremberg celebrated Albrecht Dürer’s 500th anniversary. Klaus Staeck participated. The portrait of Dürer’s mother was posted on 300 advertising pillars. Below one could read Staeck’s question: “Would you rent a room to this lady?”
Klaus Staeck, a doctor in law and acting lawyer, gallery owner, publisher, editor and author, was 33 years old when he made this publication.
Meanwhile he is 69, was three times invited for the Kassel documenta , has realised more than fifty individual exhibitions and has been President of the German Academy of Arts in Berlin since April 2006.
Up to now, Staeck’s ironic production of the tangible reality on postcards and posters is unmatched.
His design for a truck in the forthcoming series of MOVE FOR LIFE is acrimonious, perceptive and funny; pure agitation – Staeck in his best form. Why does he play along? What does agitation mean to him?
